Bank PO 2026: Massive Recruitment Drive Open — IBPS & SBI Are Hiring Over 5,000 Officers

Both IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) and SBI (State Bank of India) have announced large-scale recruitment drives for Probationary Officers (PO), collectively offering over 5,000 vacancies. SBI PO 2026 at a Glance


The SBI PO Prelims Exam is scheduled for 1st and 2nd August 2026, followed by the Mains Exam on 12th September 2026. The Prelims paper consists of 100 questions to be attempted in 60 minutes, covering English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability.

Eligibility at a Glance


Candidates must be Indian citizens, hold a graduation degree from a recognised university, and fall in the 20–30 age bracket. Relaxations in the upper age limit are applicable for SC/ST, OBC, and PwD category candidates.

Exam Strategy Tips


Time management in the Prelims is absolutely critical. Candidates should focus on Quantitative Aptitude accuracy and attempt English Language sections quickly to maximise speed. For Mains, the Descriptive Test (letter and essay writing) often makes the difference between borderline candidates.
